Create a QR Code with an embedded link

Learn how to create a QR Code to help share important event links.

It can often be helpful and convenient for you to share important event links with attendees using a QR Code. By creating a QR Code with an embedded link (URL) attendees can simply scan this QR Code from any mobile device to quickly open the URL in a mobile web browser.

What types of links can I share with a QR Code?

Any link to the ClearEvent system can be embedded and shared with a QR Code. Common examples include:

Share Link Type

Description

Registration Form Share Link

Links to a specific registration form, making it easy for someone to quickly access a registration form and sign up for your event.

Ticket Share Link

Links to a specific ticket, or list of tickets that are available for sale, allowing someone to purchase tickets for your event.

Event Portal Share Link

Links to your Event Portal Web App, allowing you to share a link to your Event Portal where people can browse and learn more about your event.

Special Access Fee Share Link

Links to a specific registration form, but enables the link holder to access a hidden Special Access Fee

How to create a QR Code

Using Built-in Features of a Web Browser:

Google Chrome:

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Navigate to the desired URL you want to create a QR Code for.

  3. In the address bar, on the right-hand side, you may see a QR Code icon (this might vary based on the version and updates).

  4. Click on the QR Code icon.

  5. A pop-up will appear displaying the QR Code for the current URL.

  6. Click on 'Download' to save the QR Code to your device.

Note: If you don't see the QR Code icon, ensure that you have the latest version of Google Chrome installed.

1. QR Code Generator (qr-code-generator.com):

Generate simple and customized QR Codes given a URL. Allows for URL tracking.

  1. In the 'Enter your URL here' field, paste the desired URL.

  2. Click on 'Create QR Code'.

  3. Adjust size, colors, and other customization options if desired.

  4. Click on 'Download' to save the QR Code to your device.

2. QRStuff (qrstuff.com):

Generate simple and customized QR Codes given a URL.

  1. Under 'Data Type', select 'Website URL'.

  2. In the 'Content' section, paste your URL.

  3. Choose the desired color for your QR Code.

  4. Click on 'Download QR Code'.

3. GoQR (goqr.me):

Generate simple QR Codes given a URL.

  1. In the provided text box, paste your URL.

  2. The QR Code will be generated automatically on the right side.

  3. Adjust size and other parameters if needed.

  4. Right-click on the generated QR Code and select 'Save image as...' to save it to your device.

4. AI QR code generator (Hugging Face):

Generates a QR Code by merging an AI-generated image with a QR Code image.

AI Generated QR Code: Prompt: "mountains, scenery"
  1. In the QR Code Content field, paste your URL.

  2. In the Prompt field, enter image prompts separated by commas (e.g. "Mountains, scenery". Be descriptive for better results. Optionally, use negative prompts to enhance variety.

  3. The AI QR code generator offers settings like strength value and conditioning scale, but they're optional.

  4. After adjusting any desired settings, click "Run" to start generation, which may take 5-7 minutes.

  5. Download the generated QR Code.
