There are times when you may want the share links to your Event Portal, Schedules, Registration forms or other ClearEvent elements to be shorter. By default, the links provided by the app will look something like this: https://app.clearevent.com/register?form=8eb5a84d-2bed-4c5d-87a8-cb46742fb9e1b
Shortening the Share Link
We suggest that you use a free URL shortening service like https://bitly.com, https://tinyurl.com, or https://rebrandly.com.
Many of these services support vanity URLs that can provide complete control over the link appearance and can give you an opportunity to create more memorable URLs. For example: https://myconf.events/sponsor
To shorten a Share Link:
Open the Event Manager App > Go to the Section for the element you wish to share. (Registration, Tickets, Event Setup, Schedules, etc.)
Select the Registration Form, Ticket, Schedule, etc. from the list displayed.
Click on Edit to access the settings.
Select the Publish tab.
Copy the Share Link field.
Using your favorite URL shortening service (see above), paste your form's Share Link URL into the URL shortening service when prompted. These services will generate a short URL that can then be shared instead of the original Share Link.
Copy the shortened link and share this link instead of the Share Link.
Please refer to the URL shortening service's documentation for details on monitoring and reporting on shortened URL tracking.
Please note that using a shortened Share Link will not keep that URL after it is clicked and user is redirected.
