Badge Maker: Print Filtered, Sorted, And Blank Badges

Learn how to print filtered, sorted, or blank badge sets from ClearEvent Badge Maker.

🧪Beta: The ClearEvent Badge Maker is currently in Beta and may change as we continue to improve the experience. Some features may be limited, adjusted, or updated based on customer feedback.

Use this article when you need more control over what gets included in your PDF, such as:

  • Printing only the attendee you are previewing

  • Printing only attendees that match a search filter

  • Printing your full attendee list in a specific order

  • Adding blank badges for on-site walk-ups

Before You Begin

Import a CSV file if you are printing personalized badges. See Badge Maker: Import Attendee Data From A CSV File. For basic PDF generation steps, see Badge Maker: Preview And Print Badges.

Choose What To Print

Open the Print Badges menu in the top toolbar and choose one of these options:

  • Print Single Badge: prints the badge for the attendee currently shown in Preview. Requires preview mode and attendee data.

  • Print Filtered: prints badges only for attendees matching your active search filter. Requires preview mode and a non-empty filter.

  • Print All: prints badges for every imported attendee record.

  • Print Blank Badges: prints a batch of blank badges using your current design with no attendee data filled in.

šŸ“NOTES:

  • To print a filtered subset, turn on Preview, enter a search term in the attendee search box, then choose Print Filtered. Clear the search to return to the full attendee list.

Set Sort Order

In the Print Badges window, use Sort order when printing Filtered or All badges:

  1. Click Add sort rule.

  2. Choose a CSV field, such as LastName or Company.

  3. Choose ascending or descending order.

  4. Add additional sort rules if needed.

  5. Click Clear to remove all sort rules and return to the current attendee order.

šŸ“NOTES:

  • Sort order does not apply when printing a single badge or a blank badge set.

Add Blank Badges

Use blank badges when you want extra unlabeled badges in the same print run:

  • Print Blank Badges: generates a PDF containing only blank badges using your current layout and artwork.

  • Extra blank badges: when printing Single, Filtered, or All badges, set a quantity to append empty badges after the personalized badges. This is useful for covering walk-up registrations from the same print run.

Generate And Download The PDF

  1. Confirm your Sheet Format, badge sides, and other print settings.

  2. Click Generate PDF.

  3. Review the PDF preview and confirm the badge count and order.

  4. Click Download to save the PDF.

šŸ’”TIPS:

  • Print a single test page first to confirm alignment before printing your full badge run.
