Badge Maker: Choose A Template And Badge Size

Learn how to choose a badge template and badge size in ClearEvent Badge Maker before you start designing.

Use this article when you are starting a new badge design and need to pick the right template size, orientation, and layout for your event badge stock.

Supported Badge Sizes

The ClearEvent Badge Maker includes templates in these standard event badge sizes:

  • 2-1/4" × 3-1/2" — portrait insert badges (for example Avery #5390, #74461)

  • 2-1/3" × 3-3/8" — portrait adhesive badges (for example Avery #5395, #8395)

  • 3" × 4" — landscape badges (for example Avery #5392, #74536)

  • 4" × 3" — portrait badges (for example Avery #5392, #74536)

  • 6" × 4" — large portrait format (custom N-up layouts)

  • 4" × 6" — large landscape format (ULINE S-6745 and custom layouts)

NOTES: Choose the template that matches the badge stock you plan to print on. See Badge Maker: Preview And Print Badges and Badge Printing for print setup details.

Choose a event name badge template

Steps

  1. Go to badge.clearevent.com and open the ClearEvent Badge Maker.

  2. From the landing page, click Start From A Template to open the template gallery, or click Start Designing For Free and then use Change Template in the left panel, or go to the File > New menu option.

  3. In the Choose a Template window, browse the available designs.

  4. Use the filter bar to narrow templates by size, style, or other tags.

  5. Click a template card to load it on the badge canvas.

  6. Review the template details shown in the left panel, including Badge size, orientation, and compatible Avery examples.

  7. Update the Badge Name in the left panel if needed.

  8. To switch templates later, click Change Template in the left panel and choose a different design.

📝NOTES:

  • Loading a new template while you have unsaved changes will prompt you to confirm before discarding those changes.

  • If you start a new badge while attendee data is already loaded, you can choose to Keep imported data or switch back to Sample data.
