Learn how to resend an invite to one or more invitees.

Updated this week

In this article, we'll discuss various options for resending an Invite to one or more invitees.

Reasons to resend an Invite

First, let's quickly review some of the reasons you may need to resend and invite to an invitee. Here are a few common reasons:

  1. Reminder: Send a friendly reminder to ensure the guest doesn't forget about the event.

  2. Test Invite Messaging: Try changing your invite messaging to make your event invite more appealing to your audience. After all, if your first invite didn't get a great response, why send the same message again!?

  3. Updated Information: Provide any changes to the event details, like the date, time, or venue, to keep the guest informed.

  4. Correction or Error: Rectify any mistakes or errors in the initial invitation, such as misspelled names or incorrect information.

  5. Change in RSVP: Give guests who initially declined the invitation a chance to reconsider if their circumstances have changed.

  6. Lost or Unreceived Invitation: Resend the invitation in case it was lost or ended up in spam folders. In some cases, you'll want to resend an invite if spam filters found an invite's subject line or message body content to be "spammy" and thus, sent your invites to your guest's spam folders.

Resending an Invite

Depending on the reason you need to resend your invite, the approach you take may vary. Below are some options to consider:

Option 1: Resend the same invite to specific invitees

This option is useful when an invite has been lost, was not received, or you just need to resend the invite to a specific guest or a group of guests.

To do this:

  1. Go to the Event Manager App > Invites section > Invites tab.

  2. Select and edit the Invite that you have previously sent.

  3. Click on the Invitees tab.

  4. Select the Invitee that you wish to resend the Invite to.

  5. Copy their email address and then click the Delete button to remove their email address.

  6. Click the +Add button and paste their email address, and re-enter their first and last name.

  7. Repeat this for any additional Invitee you wish to resend to.

  8. Go to the Preview & Send tab and click the Send to x ... button to resend the Invite to all newly re-added (Pending) invitees. Only Pending invitees will receive the resent invite.

Option 2: Copy an existing invite and resend it

This option is best used when you wish to resend your invite or send a new reminder invite to a large number of guest invitees from a previous invite.

TIP: We generally recommend you do not resend the exact same invite email to a guest twice. Why? Well, if the messaging in your original invite wasn't convincing enough to get them to attend your event, or junk mail filters found your subject or invite message body too "spammy", why send it again? You are likely to get better results with a different subject line and message body.

To do this:

  1. Go to the Event Manager App > Invites section > Invites tab.

  2. Select an existing Invite that you wish to resend and click the Copy button.

  3. From the Copy Invite dialog window, choose if you would like to exclude any invitees. You can exclude invitees that previously accepted your last invite, declined the original invite, or who's invite bounce or was rejected by the invitees mail server. This will create a copy of the Invite, along with the desired Invitees.

  5. Click on the Invitees tab to adjust the invitee list. You may optionally delete any additional Invitees that should not receive the invite, or add/import any additional or new invitees before sending.

  6. Go to the Preview & Send tab and click the Send to x ... button to send the Invite to all Invitees.

Happy planning!
