Understanding How to Use Categories & Colors in Event Schedules
Some event schedules can be quite complex. By assigning categories and colors to schedule line items you can quickly improve the readability and utility of your event schedules.
Benefits of Using Categories & Colors
Event schedules can become increasingly complex if you have multiple days, different tracks, or types of activities. By breaking down the schedule into categories and assigning distinct colors, it makes it much easier for attendees to parse and for your team to maintain your schedules.
When an attendee browses a schedule posted to your Event Portal Web App, these categories can help attendees to quickly filter the list of activities to see only those activities they are interested in.

Creating Color-Coded Categories
Creating distinct categories and corresponding colors to assign to your event schedule is easy. Simply determine what type of categories make sense for your particular event. Some categories you may want to consider include different tracks, or types of activities. You can then assign distinct colors to each of these categories.
To set the categories and category colors:
Go to the Schedules section > Schedules tab and click the Edit (pencil) button to edit an existing schedule.
Select any line item in the schedule and click the Edit (pencil) button.
In the Category setting, enter a name for the category. If the category name has been used before in the schedule, you may select it from the autocomplete popup to quickly default the category name and color.
Save your changes.
In Summary
Categorizing and color-coding schedule line items not only provides readability but also helps with the overall event experience. By providing distinct categories and associated colors, it aids the event goers to quickly understand what's going on and when.
