Job Locations are the places where your jobs happen, such as Gate 1, Ballroom A, a staging area, or a spot in a field. Each location is shared by the jobs in your event, so when a location changes you update it once and every job that uses it shows the change.
Add a street address or GPS coordinates to a location to show assignees a map on the Event Portal > My Jobs > Job Details page.
Add Or Edit A Job Location
Go to the Event Manager App > Jobs section > Locations tab.
Click Add to create a location, or select a location in the list and click the Edit (pencil) button.
Fill in the details below, then click OK.
Field | Description |
Name | The name assignees see, such as Gate 1 or North Field. Two locations can share a name only if their links are different. |
Link | An optional website link, such as a venue page or map link. On the Event Portal, the location name links to it. |
Location Notes |
|
Parking Notes | Optional parking information for assignees. |
Map details (optional) | A Street Address (Address, City, Zip/Postal Code, State/Prov, Country) and/or GPS Location (latitude and longitude in decimal degrees, for example 43.648559 and -79.385322). Enter both latitude and longitude, or neither. |
đĄTIPS: Use GPS coordinates for places without a street address, such as a field, parking lot, or trailhead. When a location has both, the map uses the coordinates.
Choose A Location For A Job
Go to the Event Manager App > Jobs section > Jobs tab and edit a job.
In the Location field, choose one of your event's locations. Locations with the same name show their link, address, or coordinates underneath so you can tell them apart.
To add a location without leaving the job, click New location. To change the chosen location, click Edit.
Click Save.
To remove a location from a job, choose No location. Other jobs that use the location keep it.
Show Assignees A Map
A map appears in the Where section of the Event Portal > My Jobs > Job Details page when the job's location has either:
GPS coordinates, or
Address 1 plus a City or Zip/Postal Code.
Assignees also see the address, Location Notes, and Parking notes there. On the Locations tab, a map marker in the Map column shows which locations have enough detail for a map.
Changing Or Deleting A Location
Editing a location updates every job that uses it. The editor shows how many jobs will change. Those jobs show Notification Pending on the Jobs tab, so you can let assignees know.
Deleting a location that jobs use shows a warning first. Continuing removes the location from all of those jobs.
đNOTES: When you roll your event over, your Job Locations are copied to the new event along with your jobs. See Rollover: Running Your Event Again.
