Learn how to delete a registrant from your event

Sometimes, you may need to delete a registrant from your event. While it's typically preferable to Decline or Cancel a registrant, deleting a registrant may be more appropriate in certain scenarios.

For example, you may wish to delete a registrant when:

  1. You created a registration while you were testing your registration process and wish to clean it up.

  2. The registration is determined to be a spam registration and you wish to remove it from the list of legitimate event registrants.

What registrants can be deleted?

Any registrant can be deleted from ClearEvent with the exception of a live paid registrant. A live paid registrant is a registrant that was required to provide online payment to register for your event while your payment gateway was set to "Live Mode". This ensures the traceability of payment transaction details between the ClearEvent platform and our payment processing partner, Stripe.com.

You may always delete any free registration, online paid registrant received while your payment gateway was in "Test Mode", or any registration that required offline payment (e.g. check payment, cash payment, etc.).

What happens when a registrant is deleted?

When a registrant is deleted from ClearEvent:

  1. The registrant will be deleted from ClearEvent and will no longer be included in any registration metrics, data exports, or targeted communications and/or event reminders.

  2. The registrant will no longer be considered an attendee of your event and will not be able to access any private details you have shared with them through your Event Portal Web App.

  3. The registrant will be removed from any assigned Jobs (if applicable).

  4. Should the registrant attempt to check in on-site to your event by scanning their registration QR Code, our Mobile Check-In App will deny access.

How to delete a registrant:

To remove a registrant from ClearEvent:

  1. Open the Event Manager App > Registration section > Registrants tab.

  2. Select the registrant you wish to delete.

  3. Ensure the registrant is Declined or Canceled before continuing.

  4. Click the Delete button from the top toolbar and follow the prompts to confirm your intention to delete the registrant.
