Close Your ClearEvent Account

Learn how to close your personal ClearEvent Account yourself, what closing it does, and what to do if something is stopping you.

If you no longer need your ClearEvent Account, you can close it yourself at any time.

⚠️IMPORTANT: Closing your account is permanent, so read what it does before you start.

What Closing Your Account Does

  • Closing your ClearEvent Account cannot be undone. A closed account can't be reopened.

  • You are signed out, and you can't sign in with that account again. Any other devices where you were signed in lose access within about 30 minutes.

  • Your name and contact details on past registrations and ticket orders are anonymized.

  • Event Organizers keep their own records of those events, including any answers you gave to their registration or ticket questions and any contact entries they created for you.

  • Your email address is freed, so you can create a new ClearEvent Account with it later.

  • We send a confirmation email to your email address once your account is closed to confirm.

How to Close Your ClearEvent Account

  1. Click your name at the top right, or open the menu and click My Account, to open the My account settings window.

  2. Click the Account tab. ClearEvent checks whether your account can be closed.

  3. Click the Close my ClearEvent account button.

  4. Type CLOSE to confirm, then click OK.

You are signed out and returned to the sign-in page, which shows that your account has been closed.

If Your Account Can't Be Closed Yet

The Account tab lists everything that is stopping your account from closing. Resolve each item, then return to the Account tab. Here are some common reasons why you may not be able to immediately close your ClearEvent Account:

  • Upcoming registrations: contact the Event Organizer and ask them to cancel your registration. Only pending or approved registrations for events that haven't ended yet block closing your account.

  • Upcoming ticket orders: contact the Event Organizer and ask them to cancel the remaining tickets on your order. Valid tickets for events that haven't ended yet block closing your account.

  • Events you manage: ask another Event Organizer or an Organization Admin to remove you from the event, or delete the event, and then try again.

  • Organizations you administer: Ask another Organization Admin to remove you from the organization's Organization Admins.
