ClearEvent assumes by default that the person who fills out a registration form is called a "Registrant". This noun is used in section titles, field labels, and tooltips to provide instructions to the registrant about how to complete the registration form.
By default, registration forms display an area titled "Registrant Details" that contains fields named "Registrant First Name", "Registrant Last Name", "Registrant Email", and "Confirm Registrant Email" fields.
In most scenarios, the default "Registrant" nomenclature works perfectly fine. However, to improve the clarity of the registration form it may be desirable to customize the default noun used in field labels to be something more descriptive (e.g. "Exhibitor", "Speaker", "Parent", "Student", "VIP", "Volunteer", etc.)
For example:
How to change the default registrant nomenclature
To change the nomenclature from the default "Registrant" noun to a custom noun you provide, follow these steps:
Go to the Event Manager App > Registration section > Forms tab.
Edit an existing registration form to open the Form Designer.
In the Form Designer, go to the Fields tab.
Click the Add built-in registrant details fields link or click anywhere within the "Registrant Details" area on the form designer preview area to open the Field Settings editor tab for the "Registrant Details" area.
The Field Settings editor tab for the Registrant Details Fields area will be displayed. In the Field Settings tab, scroll down until you see the Registrant Nomenclature setting.
Provide a noun that you wish to use to describe the registrant or person you expect to complete this form. For example "Volunteer".
TIP: Use a short and descriptive noun to describe the registrant you want to be the primary registrant associated with a submitted registration. Good Registrant Nomenclature example values are "Exhibitor", "Speaker", "Parent", "Student", "VIP", "Volunteer", etc.
You will notice the default "Registrant Details" section title, as well as the default
field labels now show the custom "Volunteer" noun instead of the default "Registrant" noun.Click the Save button to save your changes to the form.
