If you can't see an in-app chat button, an Ad Blocker or Tracking Protection setting may be preventing out Support team from helping you.

Getting Technical Support From ClearEvent

Event Managers can chat with the ClearEvent Customer Support Team to get technical support at any time through our Chat widget from either our website (https://clearevent.com) or while signed in to the Event Manager App (https://app.clearevent.com).

Event registrants or ticket buyers can chat with the ClearEvent Customer Support Team should they have technical problems registering or buying tickets for an event. Event specific questions should be addressed to the event organizer.

Please note: The chat button is not displayed in the Event Portal App.

Chat Button Location

If you are on our website or using the Event Manager App and are unable to see the in-app Chat button in the lower-right corner, it's possible that the button may be blocked by an ad blocker that has been installed or is built-into your web browser.

If you have installed a JavaScript or ad blocking browser plugin/extension that uses the EasyList or similar list you may not see the in-app Chat button.

Here at ClearEvent, we use a third-part chat tool called Intercom to provide an in-app Chat button and support services to our customers. Intercom tracks basic application usage, enabling ClearEvent's support team to provide the best support experience possible.

Ad Blockers

Why would an ad blocking extension or plugin block the Chat button?

While Intercom (our chat provider) is not an ad-provider, ad blocking plugins (e.g. Adblock, Adblock Plus, uBlock, Ghostery, NoScript, and Firefox Privacy Browsing mode) offer options to block JavaScript that also includes tracking functionality.

Since Intercom communicates conversation detail as well as offering the ability to submit application insights about your behavior within the ClearEvent application, Intercom has made their way onto some of these secondary lists. Though there are many lists, the majority of Intercom blockages are caused by their inclusion in the EasyList list.

EasyList is an optional supplementary subscription that completely removes all forms of tracking from the internet, including web bugs, tracking scripts and information collectors, thereby protecting your personal data.

How To Enable The Chat Support Button In Your Ad Blocker:

If you wish to enable the Chat support button in the Event Manager App but still use an ad blocker, you should either disable or whitelist the ad blocker specifically for the following websites domains:

  • *.clearevent.com ClearEvent does not serve ads, so it's safe to whitelist our domain.

  • *.intercom.com Required to enable the chat button.

  • *.msecnd.net (Optional) Allows ClearEvent to collect support diagnostic data from your browser.

Web Browser Tracking Protection

Using Firefox privacy mode can block the Chat button

If you're using the browser Firefox and starting a private browsing session, by default it will block the Chat button. You can enable the button again by changing the setting on the first page that opens in private mode as shown bellow:
