Payments: Verifying Your Event To Accept Live Payments

Learn how to verify your event so that you can accept live payments from your event attendees.

Updated over a week ago

So, if you've setup your event and connected your Stripe account so you can start charging guests to attend your event, you'll next need to verify your event before your event can process live payments and charge credit cards.

Event verification is quick and easy!

How To Verify Your Event

Before you start, you'll need to have access to a phone to receive your event verification code. A mobile phone number capable of receiving SMS Text Messages is best, but any phone number you have access to will do.

Ok, let's verify your event!

NOTE: You must be an Event Owner to access the Payments tab.

Using the Event Manager App, go to the Payments section and click on the Verify Your Event Now button.

The Verify Event popup window will open:

Choose how you would like to receive your event verification code. You can choose for it to be delivered to your mobile phone as a SMS (Text Message), or if you don't have a mobile phone, receive a voice call to a phone number that will instead read your verification code to you.

Select a Country Code from the drop-down list. Next, enter a Phone Number (without the country code). For example: "555-555-5555"

Click the Next > button (your verification code will be sent using the selected verification method).

When your 4-digit verification code arrives, enter it in the Verification Code field and click the Verify Event > button.

NOTE: Your verification code will expire within 10 minutes

Click Close.

Your event is now verified and you'll be able to set your Payment Gateway Mode to Live.

Unable To Verify Your Event?

If you're unable to verify your event for some reason, please contact ClearEvent Support and we'll be happy to assist.

Important Note: You must also ensure that your Stripe account has been verified to accept online payments. You will see a red banner at the top of your Stripe Dashboard if your account has not completed the Stripe verification process. Learn more here.
