If your event wishes to charge attendees to participate in your event, you'll want to setup payments and choose the event currency in which your attendees will be charged.
Supported Currencies
Using ClearEvent, your event can accept online payments in the following currencies:
Country | Currency |
Canada | CAD (Canadian dollars) |
The United States of America | USD (U.S. dollars) |
United Kingdom | GBP (British pound) |
Australia | AUD (Australian dollars) |
Europe | EUR (Euros) |
Switzerland | CHF (Swiss francs) |
Currency Conversion - Registration, Product & Tickets Sales
ClearEvent uses Stripe to process on-line payments for registration, product, and ticket sales from your attendees. This allows your event to process payments in 135+ currencies, allowing you to charge attendees in their native currency while receiving funds in your event currency.
If the charge currency differs from the customer’s credit card currency, the attendee may be charged a foreign exchange fee by their credit card company. The attendee may also be charged a fee by their credit card company if the credit card and your business are in different countries, regardless of the currency used.
Currency Conversion - Payouts
ClearEvent uses Stripe to help your event charge attendees and automatically deposit funds collected by your event directly into your bank account. To avoid possible currency conversion costs and bank fees when payouts are made to your bank account, you'll want to ensure that you connect a bank account with a currency that matches the currency you have configured when you created your event in ClearEvent.
For example, if you would like your event to charge participants in U.S. Dollars (USD), you should connect a USD bank account to avoid conversion charges.
Other Countries/Currencies
If your event is located outside of these countries, your event may be able to accept credit card payments through ClearEvent and the Stripe Atlas Program.
In order to configure ClearEvent and Stripe to collect payments for your event when your event is located outside of USA and Canada, the following are required:
A Stripe account.
A US dollar bank account (USD) connected to your Stripe account.
Stripe's Atlas Program can be used to enable users outside of a supported country to establish a US dollar bank account. You'll need to make sure the Atlas program is right for you.
