Adding your Logo, Header Background Imagery and custom colors to customize your Event Portal

Updated over 3 months ago

Customize and brand your Event Portal easily and quickly. In the Branding section, upload a logo and a header background image and preview how they look on a mockup of Your Event, or load your live portal to check them out.

Add an Event Logo or Header Background Image to your Event Portal:

Go to the Event Manager App > Branding section > Settings tab:

Upload a Event Logo

  • Click the Upload Custom Logo... button.

  • Select your logo file.  You can upload a range of graphics file formats including .GIF, .JPG and .PNG.

  • The Preview area will be updated to show the new Event Logo image.

  • Click the Save button.

TIP: ClearEvent will accept logo images with transparent backgrounds (like a .PNG file) and render them accordingly over top of the background image.

Logo Size Guidelines

Width

220

Logo's with a width larger than this value will be resized to this value.

Height

80

Logo's with a height larger than this value will be resized to this value.

Event Logo Image Tips:

  • Use the recommended image size. This helps to ensure the logo will not be resized and cause quality loss.

  • Logos with a lot of text (e.g. a small tagline below a corporate logo) may be hard to read. If possible, it's best to use a version of the logo that does not contain very small text.

  • Logo images with transparent or semi-transparent backgrounds are supported using the PNG image type.

  • The logo image should have sufficient contrast from your background image. This will help the logo stand out.

  • Avoid busy background images as they can make the overlaid logo harder to see.

Upload a Header Background Image

  1. Click the Upload Custom Header Background Image button to upload a new background image to display on the Event Portal.

  2. The Preview area will be updated to show the new background image.

  3. Click the Save button.

Header Background Image Tips:

  • Use the recommended image size. This helps to ensure the background image looks its best on a wide range of different devices.

  • Test, test, test! Be sure to test your Event Portal by resizing the browser window to simulate how the background image will display on small and large screens. You can use Chrome Dev Tools Device Mode feature to help simulate popular device sizes.

  • Depending on the device resolution, this image may be cropped, so be sure that any important subject matter is centered in the image. You may need to experiment with how you crop your image to get the desired background effect.

  • Images should ideally not contain any text. Background images containing scenery, color gradients, or simple geometric patterns, often give the best results.

  • The image should not contain the same color as your header text overlay color. This will help to avoid the text getting "washed out".

  • Avoid busy background images as they can make the overlaid header text harder to read.

Hide the Header Background Image Overlay

The Header Background Image Overlay is used to help darken the uploaded background image so that overlaid text is easier to read. This can be helpful if the background image contains the same color as the text overlay.

  1. Check the "Hide Background Overlay?" checkbox to enable if the background image is darkened to help with the contrast between the background and the header text.

  2. Click the Save button.

Remove the Logo or Background Image

You may remove the Event Logo or Background image and return to the system default.

  1. To remove the Event Logo, click the Remove link beside the Event Logo field.

  2. To remove the Header Background Image, click the Remove link beside the Header Background Image field.

Happy Planning!
