ClearEvent provides a payment summary for all transactions. To view this, open the Participants Section and select the Payment tab.
The Service Charge amounts shown in the Payment Summary, reflect the actual charge in the currency of the event, and who has paid each charge.
On each registration form, the Event Organizer has the option to specify who pays the ClearEvent Service Charge. (Read more).
Below are two examples of a $50.00 registration fee. Example 1 was completed on a Registration Form where the Service Setting is "Pass Service Charge to Buyer", and Example 2 when "Absorb Service Charge into Price".
Example 1 - Pass Service Charge to Buyer
Example 2 - Absorb Service Charge into Price
In both cases, the ClearEvent Service Charge is the same, at $1.88.
In Example 1, the ClearEvent Service Charge is added to the Orginal Buyer Sub-total (sum of all registrations fees and products selected - in this case, just the single $50.00 registration), so the Original Buyer Total: $50.00 + $1.88 = $51.88.
This is the amount charged to the buyer when the transaction is processed with Stripe, and is the base amount for calculating the Stripe Processing Charge - $1.80 in this case.
The Stripe Processing Charge is always charged to the event, so the Net Received by the Event is the original Registration Fee - Stripe Processing Fee = $50.00 - $1.80 = $48.20
In Example 2, the ClearEvent Service Charge is absorbed by the event. So the Original Buyer Total is equal to the sum of all registrations and products selected - in this case, just the $50.00 Registration Fee.
This is the amount charge to the buyer when the transaction is processed with Stripe, and is the base amount for calculating the Stripe Processing Charge - $1.75. A lower base amount then Example 1, therefore a lower Stripe Processing Charge.
The Stripe Processing Charge is always charged to the event, so the Net Received by the Event in Example 2 is the original Registration Fee - ClearEvent Service Charge - Stripe Processing Fee = $50.00 - $1.88 - $1.75 = $46.37
