Learn how to test mobile registration check-in and mobile ticket check-in ahead of your event.

If you plan to use the Mobile Check-In App to check-in attendees on-site at your event, we recommend testing that your configuration and devices are set up properly and ready to start checking-in attendees when your event finally arrives.

Because mobile check-in can be enabled separately for Registration and Tickets, the testing procedures for each mobile check-in type vary slightly. This article describes how to test both check-in options.

Test Mobile Registration Check-In

Testing Mobile Registration Check-In for a device will verify that:

  • A supported Mobile Scanning App is installed and functioning.

  • The device can connect and communicate with the ClearEvent platform.

  • The ClearEvent account that was used to sign-in to the Mobile Check-In App on the mobile device has permissions to check-in registrants.

  • The system is configured correctly and the Mobile Registration Check-In setting is enabled in the Event Manager App.

Mobile Registration Check-In Test Steps:

  • Go to the Event Manager App > Registration section > Settings tab.

  • Click on the Test Mobile Check-In button.

  • The Mobile Check-In Test dialog will be displayed:

  • On any mobile device that you wish to test, launch any of the supported Mobile Scanning Apps and scan the QR Code that is displayed.

  • ClearEvent's Mobile Check-In App will launch once the test QR Code is scanned. Depending on the state of the system, a verification message will be displayed showing the test results.

Test Mobile Ticket Check-In

Testing Mobile Ticket Check-In for a device will verify that:

  • A supported Mobile Scanning App is installed and functioning.

  • The device can connect and communicate with the ClearEvent platform.

  • The ClearEvent account that was used to sign-in to the Mobile Check-In App on the mobile device has permissions to check-in ticket holders.

  • The system is configured correctly and the Mobile Ticket Check-In setting is enabled in the Event Manager App.

Mobile Ticket Check-In Test Steps:

  • Go to the Event Manager App > Ticket section > Settings tab.

  • Scroll down to the Mobile Check-In Settings area and click on the Test Mobile Check-In button.

  • The Mobile Check-In Test dialog will be displayed:

  • On any mobile device that you wish to test, launch any of the supported Mobile Scanning Apps and scan the QR Code that is displayed.

  • ClearEvent's Mobile Check-In App will launch once the test QR Code is scanned. Depending on the state of the system, a verification message will be displayed showing the test results.
