Adding Links Within Rich Text Fields

Learn how to add links to Rich Text fields.

Updated over a week ago

Web links or email addresses contained in common plain-text description or summary text fields of the Event Manager App will automatically be converted into clickable hyper-links.

You can include links in any Rich Text field. Rich Text fields are found across the system like Event Setup, Registration, Forms, Tickets, Schedules, Messages, and more.

How to add a new link

To add a link to a Rich Text field, simply type a valid link into the field. The link will automatically convert to a clickable hyperlink once a valid link has been entered.

Example: Adding a link to your event's Description field

  1. Open the Event Manager App > Event Setup section > General tab.

  2. In the Description field, paste a link in the format “https://example.com” into the description.

  3. Save your changes.

  4. Preview & test your changes by opening the Event Portal > Event Info section and click on the new link you added. Clicking the link will open the destination in a new browser tab.

How to link existing text

You can also link any existing text to any website or file publicly shared on the Internet.

  1. Open the Event Manager App > Event Setup section > General tab.

  2. In the Description field, select any existing text:

  3. With the text selection that you wish to link, click the Link icon in the Rich Text editor toolbar. This will open the Insert Link popup window.

  4. In the URL field, enter the link. The link can be a link to any valid public website, or publicly hosted file.

  5. Save your changes.

  6. Preview & test your changes by opening the Event Portal > Event Info section and click on the new linked text. Clicking the linked text will open the destination in a new browser tab.
